NHS Covid Pass Letter

You can get your NHS Covid Pass Letter here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass/get-your-covid-pass-letter/

You can use this service if the following apply:

  • you've had 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
  • you had your vaccination in England
  • you’re aged 16 or over

You can use this service 2 weeks after you've had your 2nd dose.  If you were vaccinated as part of a trial, you can get an NHS COVID Pass exemption.

17 May 2021

International Travel Vaccination Status

From 17 May 2021, people in England who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can demonstrate their vaccination status for international travel. A full course is currently two doses of any approved vaccine.

Vaccine status will be available from:

  • the NHS App which you can download from app stores

It may take more than a week for your identity to be checked and verified so you can use this service.

If you cannot access this online service, and you have had 2 vaccines, you can request a paper letter from the NHS by calling 119. Only call 119 if you are due to travel abroad in the near future and have had your second dose more than 5 working days ago. It may take 7 working days for the letter to arrive.

This practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status.

When you're planning your travel, check the latest information on demonstrating your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad on the gov.uk website. Make sure there is time to get  proof of your vaccination status before you leave.

Evidencing COVID-19 vaccinations for international travel

Following the ministerial announcement on Friday 7 May which mentioned the impending lift of international travel on the 17 May, the government has provided inital information about how to demonstrate your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination status via the GOV.UK website here

Countries will decide whether they require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry, and it is the traveller’s responsibility to check individual requirements. If needed, people in England who have both vaccine doses will be able to demonstrate their COVID-19 vaccination status via the NHS App from 17 May. Those without access to the app can request a letter from the NHS proving their vaccination status by calling 119

Community Pop-up Vaccination Sites

We continue to work in collaboration with the Mass Vaccination Sites and Local Authority to provide additional opportunities for patients to be vaccinated in the community. We have the following pop-up vaccination clinics taking place in the coming days:

-        Thursday 13th May: 11:00 – 15:00: Chelsea Theatre , 7 World’s End Place, World’s End Estate, SW10 0DR

-        Friday 14th May: 15:00 – 17:00: St Cuthbert’s, 50 Philbeach Gardens, Earls Court, SW5 9EB

-        Saturday 15th May: 10:00 – 14:00: Dalgarno Community Centre, Dalgarno Way, North Kensington, W10 5LE

All 3 of these clinics have appointments available on a walk-in basis and we encourage practices local to these pop-ups inform their patients of these additional opportunities to be vaccinated.

22 Mar 2021

We are currently booking over 50s for their first dose of the AstraZeneca Vaccine. If you are over 50, we invite you to please call the surgery to book your appointment at St Charles Hospital or the Violet Melchett Centre.

We know many people have concerns regarding the COVID-19 AstraZeneca Vaccine and blood clotting.

Please see this information on safety from the government 'UK regulator confirms that people should continue to receive the COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca.'  "Following suspensions by some countries of the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca over suspected blood clots, the MHRA confirms that the benefits of the vaccine in preventing COVID-19 far outweigh the risks. People should still go and get their COVID-19 vaccine when asked to do so".

And also this article from the European Medicines Agency. 'COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca: benefits still outweigh the risks despite possible link to rare blood clots with low blood platelets'
"These are rare cases – around 20 million people in the UK and EEA had received the vaccine as of March 16 and EMA had reviewed only 7 cases of blood clots in multiple blood vessels (disseminated intravascular coagulation, DIC) and 18 cases of CVST. A causal link with the vaccine is not proven, but is possible and deserves further analysis."
